Juanelo 1538 – Suggestion
ByCan (the cartoonist), Cati, fame
We present to you a short video revealing the magic* that goes into the creation of an (original Spanish) Juanelo strip!
Making of Juanelo from Juanelo on Vimeo.
The software used in the video is ArtRage, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator, the music is by Mexican bands Jumbo (from the album D.D. y Ponle Play) and Pastilla (Vox Electra).

*By “magic” we mean two hours of semi-slave labour.
This is it, people. We all knew this moment would come… the moment when Can, Cati and Juanelo’s stay in New Zealand comes to an end and they shoulder their rucksacks to continue their travels in Asia (as was always their intention).
They’ll be spending the next two and a half months backpacking through Thailand, Laos, South Korea and Japan, staying in hostels and the houses of locals and keeping their feet on the road. We’d love to promise that we’ll update the site from time to time during their travels but it seems unlikely Can will have the time, energy or the technical requirements to keep even the original Spanish site updated – and the translated version would be more work still!
In any case, the tickets home are already booked for the 14th April so – assuming all goes well and Juanelo doesn’t land them in prison (or worse) – it’s a simple matter of setting your alarms, calendars, smartphones, sundials and whatever other time-measuring equipment you use, to remind you to check back around the end of April, by which time the translation factory should (hopefully) be back up and running. Alternatively, of course, you could just sign up for the RSS feed or follow Juanelo on Twitter for an automatic reminder…
Thanks for your understanding and patience. See you soon!
