Wishing all our readers a wonderful day, from all the monkeys here at the Juanelo translation centre!

With a bit of luck the Christmas strip will be along sometiime in the New Year…

Can & Cati's wedding photo

Those of you who’ve been following Can and Cati’s adventures may be interested to know that they were married last Friday in a beautiful and moving ceremony which even the presence of Juanelo couldn’t spoil.

Congratulations from the team at the English site, and all best wishes for the future!

Where have all the comics gone?

Apologies for the lack of comics over the last couple of days… Can is in the process of moving house, with all that implies, so the updates will be a little patchy for a couple of weeks.

The making of Juanelo

We present to you a short video revealing the magic* that goes into the creation of an (original Spanish) Juanelo strip!

Making of Juanelo from Juanelo on Vimeo.

The software used in the video is ArtRage, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator, the music is by Mexican bands Jumbo (from the album D.D. y Ponle Play) and Pastilla (Vox Electra).

Vimeo doesn’t work for you? Click here to watch it on YouTube!

*By “magic” we mean two hours of semi-slave labour.

Greetings from Asia!

The peace and quiet of the (currently idle) Secret Translation Facility was shattered yesterday when a well-aimed brick smashed through the single, barred window, killing two unfortunate monkeys before coming to rest on a pile of discarded manuscripts. Closer inspection revealed a letter tied around said brick, the translated contents of which I now share with you…

Hi Everyone! How’ve you been? Missing us I hope!

We’re in Busan, in South Korea, and in a few days we’ll be heading off to Fukuoka in south-west Japan. Obviously we’re not too happy with the news coming from there at the moment but, hey, we’ve been pursued by catastrophe since before we left Chile and we haven’t let it spoil the holiday so far:

- Earthquake and tsunami in Chile before we left.
- Earthquake in Christchurch, New Zealand.
- Armed conflict between Thailand and Cambodia days before we crossed the frontier.
- Bombardment of South Korea by North Korea 10 days before we got here.
- Earthquake, tsunami and nuclear disaster in Japan.

At least we’re not going to Libya! …Obviously we have our suspicions that Juanelo is behind all this somehow, but in the absence of proof we can’t formally accuse him of anything. He must be feeling a little guilty, since he’s offered to arrange delivery of this letter for us.

See you in a couple of weeks!

Happy 2011!

Dears fans, readers, commenters, critics, trolls, elves, pixies and first-time readers;

We hope you have a fantastic new year! Use it well, behave or misbehave, but at the minimum try to end the year with the same number of extremities you have now.
